Live in Japan is a deeply personal album that was born almost by chance during my trip to Japan in 2024. While walking through Tokyo, I discovered Musical Dog Studio, a warm and inspiring place where I immediately felt the desire to sit down and play. From the very first notes on the Steinway & Sons A-188, something felt incredibly natural. The touch of the piano, the atmosphere of the room, and the intimacy of the studio made the experience unforgettable.
Sound engineer Sekiguchi did a truly beautiful job capturing every nuance with sensitivity and care.
The album features six live improvisations recorded in Tokyo in August 2024. These pieces were created entirely in the moment, somewhere between silence, nostalgia, and spontaneous emotion. They reflect late-night walks through the city, personal memories, and the quiet beauty I experienced in Japan.
Inspired by intimate classic jazz recordings and the complete freedom of improvisation, Live in Japan is above all an honest snapshot of a moment in life — cinematic, human, and deeply sincere.

Live in Japan est un album très personnel, né presque par hasard lors de mon voyage au Japon en 2024. En me promenant dans Tokyo, je suis tombé sur le studio Musical Dog Studio, un lieu chaleureux et inspirant où j’ai immédiatement eu envie de jouer. Dès les premières notes sur le Steinway & Sons A-188, quelque chose de très naturel s’est installé. Le toucher du piano, l’acoustique de la pièce et l’atmosphère du studio ont rendu ce moment unique.
L’ingénieur du son Sekiguchi a réalisé un travail magnifique, en capturant chaque nuance avec beaucoup de sensibilité et de délicatesse.
L’album rassemble six improvisations live enregistrées à Tokyo en août 2024. Ces pièces sont nées dans l’instant, entre silence, nostalgie et émotion spontanée. Elles racontent mes promenades nocturnes, certains souvenirs, et cette beauté calme et presque suspendue que j’ai ressentie au Japon.
